Abstract
A personal letter from President Reagan's Secretary of State George Shultz in 1987, thanking Max Fisher for advice in matters with Israel. As he had for previous Republican administrations, Fisher acted as an unofficial ambassador for the Reagan administration. Said Shultz, "Whenever he went to Israel he would check in with me, and when he got back he would check in again. He could give you a sense of people's thinking."
