1956 Allied Jewish Campaign
February 1, 1956
Abstract
In 1956, Max Fisher was chosen to head the Allied Jewish Campaign annual fundraising drive. He raised over $5 million, the most in the Federation's history, establishing himself as a preeminent fundraiser. Famously, his tactic was to donate generously himself and encourage others to follow his lead.
