The Fred M. Butzel Award from the Jewish Welfare Federation of Detroit, was presented to former chairman Max Fisher in 1964 for "Distinguished Community Service." In 1957 alone, his first year as chairman, Fisher raised $5,841,000, the most in the Detroit federation's history.
