You see, I didn’t have much of a Jewish background, that many people had who lived in a Jewish community. And I went over there and I saw the place—my father and mother told me about the experiences they had in Russia and the discriminations and the troubles they had. So, when I became involved, in that trip to Israel, I realized, that this will be a place for any Jews in trouble. And that’s what it was: it was a home for any Jews in trouble. I just felt that I had to do something.
