My father, mother—family had moved to Detroit. I had never been in Detroit. And this is very interesting: you know, when I walked out of the Fraternity House, I had bought a little Model-T Ford Roadster—you know, one for twenty-five bucks—and I got into this little Ford Roadster and I drove to Detroit, which changed my whole life.
