Interviewer: What was it about these two people, Max Fisher and Henry Ford II? They both loved the city. And they both would do everything that they could to help it. And off of that, when Max was asked—the idea of a Detroit Renaissance came about—and Max was asked to be the Chairman. And he said he would be Chairman if he could get Henry Ford to be co-Chairman, and that built a continued friendship throughout…through Henry’s life, of course. And they did many things together in terms of development in other places.
