With Robert Mosbacher

January 1, 1989

Abstract

Fellow oilman Robert Mosbacher became head fundraiser for the President Ford Committee leading up to the 1976 election and worked closely with Max Fisher on the important Michigan campaign front in the President’s home state. Mosbacher later praised Fisher’s role in the campaign effort: “We wouldn’t have done as well without Max. He had so much experience at this sort of thing, and he knew everyone.” When Mosbacher became President Bush's Secretary of State in 1989 the two became political allies again.
