Abstract
In 1997, Max Fisher received an honorary doctor of laws degree from Brandeis University. Other honorary degree recipients that day included: Oscar Arias, former President of Costa Rica and Nobel laureate for peace; Whoopi Goldberg, actress, comedienne and social activist; Roald Hoffman, educator and Nobel laureate for chemistry; Shimon Peres, former Prime Minister for Israel and Nobellaureate for peace; and Samuel Stroum, visionary entrepreneur and community leader.
