January 1, 1966

Abstract

Fisher married his second wife, Marjorie, in 1953, and she encouraged him to broaden his philanthropic efforts. Fisher held Prime Minister Eshkol in high esteem and credits him with teaching him "the greatest lesson I would ever learn about Zionism." Fisher's first official act on behalf of President Richard Nixon was attending Eshkol's funeral in 1969.
