With Henry Ford II

March 1, 1982

Abstract

Henry Ford II's son and heir, Edsel B. Ford ll, described his father's close friendship with Max Fisher: "There were few people in the world who were at the same power level as my father. Max was one of them. Max was the angel on my father's shoulder. He talked everything over with him. Max is the great calmer, and my father was impulsive. Max was willing to listen to him." As fellow Detroit business leaders, Ford and Fisher developed a business partnership and a strong friendship that was as important to the city itself as it was to each of them.
