"$500 million Detroit riverfront plan is unveiled by Henry Ford"

Henry Ford II, Chairman of Ford Motor Co., was the person behind the Renaissance Center, backing it to the tune of close to $500 million. He credited Max Fisher with giving him the idea. Of his good friend Ford, Max said: "Great cities are built by great citizens and Henry is the greatest."
